Native Game Bird Management Program Pre-season Update 2017

Last year the Southern Riverina experienced a significant increase in wild duck populations. This was due to above average rainfall across most of the State, with several stations including Cobar and Griffith recording their wettest winter on record.

Although dry conditions have meant much of the floodwaters have now receded, aerial duck surveys conducted by the NSW DPI in February this year found high concentration of ducks still remain within the region.
