New methods of stubble management (1980)
Bacon, P.E Chase, D.L
This IREC Farmer Newsletter presents information on new methods of stubble management. The article outlines what happens to stubble incorporated, stubble incorporation, how it effects the soil structure, how much can actually be incorporated, and if it requires different farm management. The article concludes that there is considerable evidence that stubble incorporation can increase yield. However crop and soil types play a key role as does the interval between crops and durability of water and suitable machining. Studies at Yanco Agriculture institute continue to aim at improving efficiency of incorporation techniques.
