Calrose and Kulu compared over a range of Nitrogen levels (1970)

Boerema, E, Lewin, L

This IREC Farmers Newsletter presents the results of trials undertaken by the breeding program at Yanco Agricultural institute in 1969/70. Nine trials were undertaken to compare Calrose and Kulu at levels of 0,2,4 and 6 cwt sulphate of ammonia per acre. These trials were spread across the Murrumbidgee valley, Colleambally and Murry Valley. The results presented concluded that in general Kulu does not yield as well as Calrose. The results also concluded that the yield difference between the two varieties is less in Murrumbidgee Valley and Kulu performs more reliably in the northern regions.
