Progress in controlling muddy water (1978)
This IREC Farmers Newsletter presents information on the laboratory and field experiments undertaken at CSIRO field station Deniliquin. The 1977 experiment followed on from previous experiments using gypsium to prevent muddy water. The 1977 experiment focus on possible methods of gypsum application including onto dry soil prior to flooding, into water as it entered the bay and onto the water 24 hours after flooding. The conclusion was the later two methods were most efficient and that further studies were required to adopt these methods into larger field experiments.
