This IREC Farmers Newsletter article present facts, figures and advice on Integrated Pest Management options. The article outlines an integrated pest management plan including hygiene, inert dust, aeration lighting and sound packaging. The article describes the damage pest can do to a stored rice and a survey of farmers as to where pests can be harboured. A pilot study was explained that would be undertaken prior to 1995 season. Whilst information on Dryacide an insecticide commonly used is presented as are the types of pest that cause problems with in the industry
