This IREC Farmers Newsletter article presents the results of a two year trial on banding urea pre permanent water. The article concludes that banding urea of a few centimeters below the soil surface just before permanent flood did not increase yield or reduce the nitrogen losses when compared with the recommended practice- broadcasting urea followed rapidly by permanent flooding.
