This IREC Farmer Newsletter article presents an update on the RIRDC project DAN145A investigating the use of EM to estimate groundwater recharge from rice growing. At this stage of the project the EM technology is leading to a more accurate assessment of rice stubble soils. The author states further anaylsis of the research finding is continuing as are discussions with rice growers and irrigation authorities.
