This paper was presented at the Cold Tolerance workshop to assist farmer methods for identifying high water use rice paddocks and bays. The paper presents information on simple techniques which farmers can use to become better informed about rice paddock water use, and leaky bays within paddocks. The information describes lock up bay tests, improved recording of irrigation and flow metres.
