Aerial sowing of Rice (1967)
IREC
1967
During the 1966-67 rice season many farmers in the Murrumbidgee and Murray Valley's established their rice crop by the aerial sowing technique, said Messers Boerema and McDonald, members of the Rice Research Team at the Y.A.C. & R.S. This technique was usually adopted because water restrictions were feared. Many years of experimentation, together with this seasons field experience, have given much valuable knowledge of aerial sowing. Under certain conditions aerial sowing has some distinct advantage, however under most average conditions other methods of establishment are preferred.
