Rice Stubble for Sheep (1968)
IREC
1968
The present shortage of roughage for sheep will no doubt be turning thoughts to the use of rice stubble said Mr Tony Brunskill, Livestock Officer, South Western Agricultural Region. When the rice crop is harvested, there will be rice grain left in the paddock. The quantity will vary from property to property, but at least 100 lb. of grain per acre will be left. The grain is good stock feed, being high in energy value and also having an adequate protein level.
